She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio in 1981 where she also graduated with honors.

Marion began her career as a Physical Therapist at the New York University Medical Center's Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine and Tisch Hospital in New York City. Her clinical experience at NYU included rotations in Medical, Surgical, Orthopedic and Neurological Rehabilitation. Marion spent two of her three years at the Rusk Institute on the Chest Physical Therapy and Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Units where she worked extensively in the Recovery Room, Transplant and Intensive Care Units. It was during this period that she developed her deep love for and devotion to the care of patients with cardiopulmonary dysfunction.

After Leaving the Medical Center, Marion worked for two years with the Visiting Nurse Service of New York as a home care physical therapist as well as in various skilled nursing facilities where her practice focused on the principles of energy conservation, controlled breathing techniques and balance training in the geriatric population. In 1999 she joined the Pulmonary Wellness & Rehabilitation Center as a Senior Physical Therapist and one of its founding members.

Prior to her physical therapy career, Marion worked as a Licensed Massage Therapist specializing in Deep Tissue and Medical Massage. Her primary focus was on the treatment of TMJ and Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. She has also practiced Foot Reflexology, which she taught for many years under the direction of Laura Norman (author of 'Feet First') at Ms. Norman's Foot Center in New York City.
