Program Director
Dr. Noah Greenspan is a Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Diseases and Diplomate of the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS). He earned his Bachelor of Science in physical therapy from the SUNY Upstate Medical University (Syracuse, NY) in 1992 and his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from Dominican College where his research entitled "Aerobic Exercise and Strength Training in Elderly Patients with COPD" was published in CHEST, the official journal of the American College of Chest Physicians.
In 1998, Dr. Greenspan founded the Pulmonary Wellness & Rehabilitation Center, a Manhattan-based physical therapy practice specializing in the care of patients with cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases. His clinical research specialty is cardiopulmonary rehabilitation in patients over 80 with complex and/or multiple medical conditions.
Dr. Greenspan is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR), the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and the American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP). He has been named "Best of the United States" in the area of cardiovascular and pulmonary physical therapy for the past five years in a row.
Dr. Greenspan began his professional career at New York University Medical Center's Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine, with clinical rotations in medical, surgical, orthopedic and neurologic rehabilitation, chest physical therapy and ultimately cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation. From 1995-1999, he served as the chief physical therapist of the Cardiac Prevention and Rehabilitation Center under the direction of doctors Horacio Pineda, MD and Mariano Rey, MD. From 1995-2003, he was on the faculty of New York University's Department of Physical Therapy, where he was awarded the title of Master Clinician in the area of cardiovascular and pulmonary physical therapy. From 2004-2006, Dr. Greenspan was on the faculty of Dominican College where he taught Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Physical Therapy and Health Care Administration. He is currently a Clinical Instructor at the New York Medical College and an Adjunct Clinical Professor at Long Island University in the area of Cardiovascular Pathology, Diagnosis and Management.
In addition to his role at the Pulmonary Wellness and Rehabilitation Center, Noah has written numerous publications related to Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation and writes a monthly blog called "Pulmonary Wellness with Dr. Noah Greenspan". Noah is a New York State Certified Emergency Medical Technician and Advanced Cardiac Life Support provider; a professional Scuba Diving International instructor, rescue diver and underwater naturalist and a musician, artist and clothing designer under the moniker, Noah G Pop.
